The quality management system is a constituent part of the Temirservice Astana management system, ensuring sustainable basis for growth and development. The Company has adopted the Quality policy and assumed the obligation to work with the interested parties ensuring the high-quality services and bearing liability for its contractual obligations, maintaining the high level of technology and the appropriate specialists qualifications, comply with the corporate ethics and ensure continuous comprehensive production monitoring.

One of the main directions of the management system is continuous improvement of production processes, keeping-up with the high pace of technological development. Development of own technological solutions and know-how bring the Company’s efficiency to a new level, having no analogues in Kazakhstan.

Since 2016, the Company has been implementing the “Kaizen” lean production technology — continuous improvement, starting with production ad up to the top management, from the director up to the ordinary employee. More than 20 projects have already been implemented for this period, they include: “Efficient Work Places Arrangement According to 5S System”, “Implementation of LEAN production in the Company”, “Hoshin Kanri” and “Improvement of efficiency of the payment documents forming for cars supply/ removal”.

Technical audit

The technological processes are audited on a regular basis by the reputable technical auditors team.

Briefings on the occupational health and safety

We arrange for daily occupational health and safety briefings for our operation teams before work shift commencement.

Maintenance of tracks and infrastructure.

We follow the established maintenance plan for our railway infrastructure and make technical examination thereof daily. Upon completion of maintenance and repair of tracks, they are subject to acceptance by a special technical commission.

Technical and safety training.

The Company annually adopts the Technical and Occupational Health and Safety Training Program for our employees, providing for the two-week trainings delivered by the internal and invited experts.

Cleaning and disinfection.

We provide daily cleaning and disinfection of our operational premises.

Occupational health and safety of our production and technological processes are at the center of the Company’s constant attention. We use a reliable internal control system that ensures round-the-clock safe provision of services in compliance with high standards of occupational health and safety.

The Company has a special service that manages the occupational health and safety program, as well as compliance with the occupational health and safety procedure established by our company and relevant regulations of Kazakhstan, including labour legislation. This service is part of our integrated internal control and management system, which focuses on the above procedures, as well as on identifying and reducing occupational health and safety risks.

We conduct an annual occupational health and safety training program for all our staff, which includes two weeks of training conducted by our internal and invited experts in the field.

We have developed an automated dispatch control function, which includes a centralized locomotive control system with GPS tracking and remote speed control, a video surveillance system and an advanced radio communication system with the operators of our locomotives.

ENVIRONMENTAL

PROTECTION

The Environmental protection and care are the important aspects of our responsibility. The Company provides systematic identification, analyses and assessment of all production activities factors that can potentially affect the environment. The Company complies with the Environmental Protection Management System ST RK ISO 14001-2016 provisions, developed to mitigate and prevent negative impact of the Company’s activity on the environment.

Environmental protection policy and programs

The Company follows the approved policies and programs ensuring compliance with the relevant environmental legislation. We actively go outside the frameworks of formal compliance with the objectives on mitigation of the Company's activity impact on the environment. Our initiatives include continuous monitoring of innovations applicable to shunting locomotives, as well as the program on decrease of consumption aimed at decrease of cost for electricity, fuel and materials.

Emission management

We monitor and record our emissions and implement the emission decrease program.

Waste recycling

We implement a program on wastes collection and recycling, it is focused on recycling of batteries and other mixed waste.

Environmental risks register

The Company has developed the environmental risks register, which is regularly reviewed. The risk management program includes the incident management policies and procedures.

Internal control

Our environmental program comprises the system of communications, education and internal control aiming at regular check of compliance with the established environmental policies and procedures.

Certification

Our Company holds ISO certificate in the field of environmental management for railway infrastructure operation.

SOCIAL

RESPONSIBILITY

Temirservice Astana builds-up interaction with the interested parties based on business practices and provisions of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Company has developed the Code of Business Ethics, which establishes the fundamental principles and norms of conduct for the Company’s officials and employees, determines the internal relations rules within the Company, and the relationships with interested parties. The underlying corporate values, which the Company’s activities are based on, comprise the integrity, decency, respect to people, mutual assistance and trust.

Local content development policy

The company strives to attract local producers of Kazakhstan as a priority and hire residents of the region located near the project facilities. The main goal is to provide Kazakhstan suppliers and local residents with equal opportunities in employment, education and vocational training. To achieve this, the Company always gives priority to Kazakhstan manufacturers in procurement, regularly analyses the local market of services and goods, and actively cooperates with regional enterprises and educational institutions.

Staff development

Our people are our main asset. The TSA consists of more than 140 employees, whose average age is 29 years, 84% of our staff have university or technical education. We invest in talents and appreciate diversification and development of our staff through careful selection, expanded education programs for management and staff.

Education

We have developed the annual educational program for our employees, comprising technical training and communicative skills training. In addition to the current professional education, we provide training in team management, cooperation, self-administration, conflict management.

Labour remuneration

We arrange for annual benchmarking of salary packages in order to provide the higher market level of our employee’s incomes.

Communications

We hold regular meetings between employees and shareholders and top managers to provide the open forum for communication and collect complete feedback on the key directions of the Company's HR activities.

Social responsibility

We provide various social benefits to our employees, including free transportation and free private medical services. All TSA employees have medical insurance with Interteach medical company. Our social package also includes various voluntary payments to the current and retired employees.

Popularization of a healthy lifestyle is one of the Company's top priorities. We frequently arrange for friendly matches in volleyball and table tennis among employees. Our employees' kids can attend the modern chess club organized for them at a discounted price.

The company actively participates in holding the events of the country importance, helps to to orphanages, children with disabilities, supports its employees in difficult life situations.
